Are you building a website and are having trouble finding the right images to fit into the headers or blocks on your pages that fit with your brand? Are the stock images out there just not quite right for what you do and you are spending countless hours find the right images? Have you thought about custom stock images of your art and brand? You can do so much more than putting one smiling portrait of yourself on all of your website’s pages. Get beyond portraits when setting up your personal brand session.
First, have an idea of the layout of your website.
Website templates these days utilize wide images and blocks that can be stacked. Knowing how your website is laid out is important because it gives a photographer specifics to shoot for. Meaning, if you have a spot for a header ith text at the top of a page, a verticle image will not work too well. Or if you want to have a verticle image on your about me page. Then at the photo shoot, the photographer can have a goal for the images. Discussing the specific uses before the shoot can make the final image selection process so much easier because you already know where the images are going. And the photographer has already created images that fit. Here is a great example of what Morgan Surkin did on her Blue Star Pilates Page.
Filler Images
Having images that help tell the story of your brand or art can add so much more impact to your website. It shows what you do and how you do it, elevating your story and why you do what you do. All with custom stock images. Place text on top and have it be a background or just insert it in between blocks of text. Use them to fill up your social media feed and really show what you do.
You still need that portrait
A good portrait is always the goal of every portrait session we do. Having that on your about page, next to your quotes, and as social media can show a cohesive brand presence online.
We want to make sure you are getting the best experience and the most out of hiring a photographer. It is an investment but being able to accurately show your brand and tell your story will bring back more to you than you can imagine. The hat I wear in my about section still gets recognized when I wear it.
