Portland Piano Trio

I’ve had the pleasure of working with the Portland Piano trio a couple of times, also known as 240 Strings as their non-profit arm. It was time to update images with a new member joining the group recently.

Cellist, Jing Li, joined Annie Antonacos, piano, and Tracey Jasas-Hardel, violin to form the group that performs as the Portland Piano Trio. They also provide free music lessons through 240 Strings. A wonderful collaboration to bring classical music to kids and the Portland Maine area.

This session was designed to bring both of the entities into a more updated look. The more traditional, classical chamber group in all black and then the fun vibrant side of the non-profit. We were having a great time and it became apparent that there needed to be some friendly expressions as that is how the group connects. They opted for more fun, warm images for both looks and I think it fully represents both of the organizations.

There is always a blend of what the business or organization is representing and how the people involved show that. That is one thing I love about doing these sorts of portrait sessions. In this instance, the Portland Piano Trio can sound formal but the members are more than that and we were able to collaborate on what fits best. A thought to bridge the formal and casual was brought up and we went with it. Being some of my favorite images from the series.
