Composer and Musician, Jordan Guerette, has an extremely wide range of musical endeavors. From metal to classical, and even some video game music. It was such a pleasure working with him on some new portraits for his website and branding.
The primary avenues for Jordan’s skills are composing and writing music focused around two groups that he writes and plays with. Both are vastly different and he says it gives him a chance to change pace not get stuck in one genre of music for too long.
One is a metal band, Falls of Rauros through which he has been a member of for over 15 years now. He says the process for writing for this group is very organic and is often done during a rehearsal with everyone present. The other group, a contemporary, classical ensemble Forêt Endormie is more of a traditional approach that involves writing parts and listening to samples instruments and often isn’t heard on live instruments until everyone comes together for the first read. Which is always exciting, Jordan says.
As a composer and musician Jordan says is influenced by many different types of music and feels his time in music school opened that up tremendously. He is often drawn to folk music where he likes to blend idiomatic guitar themes, which is his primary instrument.
