Company Headshots in Yarmouth, Maine: A Fresh Look for the Shepard Financial Team

There is a certain kind of business that understands, at a foundational level, that trust is everything. For a financial planning firm, every client interaction is built on the belief that the person across the table genuinely has their best interests in mind. When Shepard Financial came to us for company headshots in Yarmouth, Maine, that trust-first identity was visible in everything about how they operate, and it shaped how we approached their session from the start.

Why Shepard Financial Needed a Fresh Set of Images

Shepard Financial had a clear and practical reason for reaching out: a new website design was underway, and the existing headshots needed to match where the brand was heading. Those are the most common reasons for a company headshot session. A business invests in a redesigned website, and suddenly the old photos feel dated, inconsistent, or out of step with the direction the company has grown into. The images become the weakest link in an otherwise strong presentation.

The team needed individual headshots and group photos for the new website, financial advisor directory listings, and LinkedIn profiles. For a firm rooted in coastal Maine and serving clients across the country, those images carry real weight. A prospective client who has never walked through the door may form their first impression entirely from a team page or a directory listing. What they see in those photographs matters more than most people realize.

Inside the Session at the Shepherd Financial Office

We photographed all five members of the Shepard Financial team at their office at 701 US Route 1 in Yarmouth, inside the Currency Institute. We also completed two group photos during the session, all shot in the same front lobby area where the individual headshots were taken.

To give the images some depth without losing the warmth of the space, we used the natural light already present in the lobby with an additional controlled amount of light from my flashes. Instead of constructing a separate setup for the group work. Working in one consistent location kept the session moving efficiently. Giving the individual portraits and group photos a cohesive look that will read well together on the website.

A Team That Made the Work Easy

What stood out most about this session was the energy in the room. The Shepard Financial team is close, and it showed. When each person stepped in front of the camera, the rest of the team was right there with them, encouraging them, laughing with them, and making sure no one felt like they were on their own. That kind of environment changes what a headshot session feels like, and it changes what the images look like. People who are relaxed and supported by the people around them photograph differently than people who feel like they are standing alone in front of a lens.

That warmth comes through in the finished images, and it is consistent with how Tom Shepard and his team describe their work. Shepard Financial’s approach centers on understanding what matters most to each client and building a financial strategy around that, with relationships at the center of the process. The photographs reflect that same orientation.

Where the Images Are Being Used

The headshots are now on the Shepard Financial website, anchoring their team pages and About Us section. They are also in use across advisor directory listings and LinkedIn profiles. For a firm with the professional depth that Shepard Financial brings, having images that reflect that level of approachability and credibility is not a cosmetic decision. It is a business one.

A Note on Company Headshots for Financial Professionals

Financial services is one of the industries where the gap between a strong headshot and a weak one is most consequential. Clients in this space are making decisions about who to trust with their money, their retirement planning, and in some cases, their legacy. A photograph that feels stiff, outdated, or disconnected from who a person actually is creates friction before a single conversation has happened. A photograph that feels warm, confident, and genuine does the opposite.
