What do you think a finance author would look like? Maybe a little stuffy in a suit and tie that is a little too tight. That is exactly what Christian DID NOT want. A great way to break out of the mold and be more intentional and authentic to who you are through Personal Branding Imagery and Portraits.
As a Principal at Casco Bay Wealth Advisors, Christian loves helping people understand finances and grow their wealth. At our consultation, he explained he wanted to change the image of the finance author and show a more easy-going, approachable guy. This was also a theme in his new book as he aims to explain things in an easier way for people to understand. Aligning that idea with the images he was looking for was the main goal. One way was through the wardrobe. He mentioned that he has been not wearing ties for quite some time now. While he brought some ties just in case we didn’t have a single image with one as it can sometimes come across as closed off and stuffy. And that is not what he was looking for.
We started with a more formal polished look with a black and white look with varying backgrounds. Another way to show a vibe is through expressions. The “stand up straight and smile” look has a place but there are SO MANY little micro-expressions in between the straight face and the smile. Tapping into those muscles in the face and subtle expressions can completely change how we perceive someone and a portrait. As a finance author, these images will be used for the book, in marketing, and on a website, so having a clear vision for how he wanted to look is important, and be presented was very important.
It was such a pleasure to work with Christian on these images. I am wishing him all the best with his new book.
