Portraits of Casco Bay Wind Symphony Members

The power of music is ever present in the community ensembles across the country. A place for people to go and make music and to keep it in their lives. Performing with the Casco Bay Wind Symphony is one of my greatest joys and being able to photograph some members at our last concert was even better.

I wanted to have more of a reach with this Why Music Project and what better place than the group that I am involved in. This group is both fun and challenging and I am ever grateful to be able to play with amazing musicians in the Casco Bay Wind Symphony. Many are not professional musicians but have continued to play throughout their life. I wanted to feature some of their stories and create portraits to continue this project.

Reading about each person’s connection shows that vast power that music has and how each of us connects with our art. Thank you to everyone who participated and shared their passion for music. Be sure to flip through them all and read what they have to say.

Our director, Dr. Trae Blanco is also leaving us after a short stay in Maine. His presence and passion for music have certainly elevated the ensemble and my own level of drive to be better. He was kind enough to be photographed as well. Thank you, and you sure will be missed.
