Your company needs new headshots… Now what. Here are 3 things to discuss with your Corporate Headshot Photographer.
Scheduling and Logistics
Is it part of a more significant event like an all-hands meeting, retreat, or workshop?
Often for ease of scheduling companies will have a photographer at their yearly corporate event or workshop. This is great as all, or the vast majority of employees will be there. The only potential issue could be scheduling and how it would fit into the schedule of events already planned. Knowing the maximum number of people who would be needing a headshot can help determine how long it would take. I recommend allotting 2-3 minutes per person. My system can allow for faster sessions but we want to make sure we get an image they are proud of. That brings me to what the process is for selecting images
Other Corporate Headshot Photographers have their own system whether it is selecting on the computer or an online gallery. This would be helpful to know for your employees so they can be prepped beforehand unless the photographer has resources already created for you to send to employees. I like to send a guide to companies that details what to expect and also how to prepare for their headshot so everyone can arrive ready to go with expectations already laid out.
Image Aesthetic
Having a cohesive look to your company directory shows you take pride in being consistent and can be a way for potential clients to relate to the work you provide. If you have a clean cohesive look to your website then they will probably take care of me.
So what do you want your headshots to look like? If you already have company guidelines then make sure your corporate headshot photographer knows and can replicate that look. There are several things to think about if yu are starting fresh. Background color, lighting, and how the image is cropped. A lot of those decisions can be determined by how the images are being used. Incorporating branding color as the background when they are used for the online directory. Or a contrasty lighting pattern because it fits the brand better.
Another thing to discuss is what kind of editing is provided and if Professional Retouching is an option. Additional retouching is often an additional charge so bring that up with your talk with your corporate headshot Photographer.
Image Delivery
Lastly, how the images will be delivered. Do you need to disperse the files individually because of security reasons, or will the photographer deliver them to each individual?
Make sure you talk with your photographer before everything is scheduled so you both are on the same page and expectations from both sides are set and understood. This will ensure everything runs smoothly.
