The consultation is an important part of the experience and where my clients and I develop a vision for the session and align our ideas. From a relaxed vibe to a glamorous look, Sarah wanted to try and do a little bit of both. Sarah’s portraits in green are stunning.
The color green has been one of those colors that has been in my head but I haven’t been able to incorporate it into any specific sessions. Until Sarah came along. With her curly locks and Scottish heritage, it was the perfect place to bring in the green. The dress she found was perfect. A simple wrap dress that can be configured and worn in a multitude of different ways. This may be something I have at the studio as part of a wardrobe option that would be available to clients.
This session was just as fun for Sarah as it was for me. I was able to try some new lighting that I have been thinking about in my head and she was all for it. We captured different sides of her personality with the different outfits and lighting. With the portraits in green being a more formal look we opted for a cozy shall and jeans for a casual. A brighter background and lighting complemented the chill vibe.
Having different looks in your portrait session can really bring out the different sides of your personality. This is why I love the planning part as it helps us define what you are looking for so that the images best represent who you are.
Sarah is also a musician and we sat down for a Why Music Interview. Hearing her perspective and how the communal aspect of creating something with others, really had me thinking back to my experiences on stage.
