What a pleasure working with Choral Conductor and Music Educator, Jeff Mosher. From an incredible portrait session to a deep conversation about music and art. Thank you Jeff for sharing yourself and your art.
Establishing one’s self in their field can be challenging, but having some experience and a vision for your art and craft is a great place to start. Jeff Mosher is making a name for himself as a Choral Conductor and wanted some images to reflect this pursuit. He just finished his degree in Conducting from The University of Southern Maine School of Music, which also happens to be my Alma Mater, and is teaching in a local High School.
His vision of his art and craft is very detailed and quite beautiful to hear him talk about it. A simple, yet deep understanding of what he does and why he does it was immediately evident during Why Music our interview. You can hear him speak on it in a shortened version in the video below. Now a little more about the session.
Jeff came with a pretty clear idea of what he was looking for and we were able to refine it down and really make it his own. A dark background, contrast, and a mix of formal attire and business attire. As an educator, he wanted to present himself as professional, how he would show up in the classroom, as well as the formal attire you would see him in on the podium as a choral conductor. Giving him a variety of styles with a cohesive feel to all the images.
Having already conducted choirs in Australia and here in the States he already had some incredible experiences. Now he can take those experiences, his philosophy of music and these images and develop his personal brand as the fine Choral Conductor that he is.
I am looking forward to seeing him on the podium soon. Enjoy his take on music in the video below.
