As an Addiction Medicine Physician, Dr. Scott Davis, M.D. needed to have a variety of images to fill out his new website. Different uses needing different images that portray a different side of who he is.
One of my favorite parts of the experience is the Consultation. The blending of visions to create a plan for the actual photo session. Refining what is needed and how the client wants to be seen and portrayed in their business. Scott needed a few different looks to fulfill needs in a couple of different areas in his business. A professional, formal headshot for work in courts. To a welcoming, more casual vibe for his practice as an addiction medicine physician where he needs to be able to connect with clients and provide a welcoming space for them. He wanted a clean natural background for all of these so we went for a gray. Expressions and body language, through posing, can really be the highlight when there is a clean background.
My ultimate goal is to capture clients as they want and need to be seen. Everyone has insecurities but there are more positive attributes about you that should be highlighted. Everyone should have a portrait that they are proud of. Even though Scott was getting these images done for his business and practice he needed to be happy with them. Scott brought a more casual outfit as well that we ended the session with.
It can be easy to get stuck in one look and one vibe for your images but I invite you to explore the different facets of you and your business that you can bring out in portraits.
