Have you seen this guy? Maybe wandering around Portland’s Old Port amidst the bar hoppers on summer nights? Let me tell what it’s like photographing the Dark Knight. Yes, Batman.
His identity is safe with me.
A presence was felt during a recent photo shoot for a client but I could not place it. Like someone was watching me while I photographed portraits of a client. Not knowing he was in the room the whole time only to reveal himself towards the end as we started wrapping up. A little intimidating to say the least. Running on almost empty after photographing portraits for a couple hours I cautiously asked if he would step in front of the camera. He willingly obliged and to say these images are epic is an understatement. I was photographing the Old Port Batman. Not what I had expected at all. More images in the video below.
What an experience. Someone with a personal connection to the resilience of the character and goes does this to bring joy to others, is inspiring. He is Batman. Seeing both sides of him made it clear. He embodies batman, from the alter ego to the caped crusader himself. That is his art.
Maybe we all have a little superhero in ourselves that comes out when we live our passions. What superhero would you be and what would be your calling card to the world?
