2018, Year in Review

2018, what a year it has been. I am even more excited to bring on 2019 as a portrait photographer. Here are some highlights and favorite images from the past year. Be sure to watch the video at the end for something from every portrait session.

Some of my favorite images seemed to come from out of the blue. After looking back I can see a similar thread and that is connecting with the person that will be in front of the camera. Easily my favorite part of the process. The consultation where we design the shoot together and go through wardrobe, styling and any specific things they want to feature.

From busts of composers, medieval armor, and many instruments, there sure were a lot of things that made the images unique to the person in them.

Yes, there were awards and growth in 2018 and hopefully more in 2019, but what I value the most is the people I work with. I have grown to enjoy the process of connecting, and see the difference in the images that are created. I hope to see you in front of the camera in 2019. Yea, a shameless plug.

So now that 2018 is over what will 2019 bring?

Honestly, I don’t know but I welcome it all. The good, the bad, and the ugly. All are learning experiences. More printing of portraits, the only way an image can really be complete and valued on a daily basis. Learning and growing as a person and photographer. I am also actively working at finding a studio space that I can call my own and work out of. A place where people can come and feel welcomed, valued, and really let their truest version of themselves come through. Most of all I hope to continue to work with amazing people create some incredible portraits. See a little something from every portrait shoot this past year

Here is to 2019! Let’s make it awesome!
